Communications (18 year+)

At major events and large-scale emergencies, St John Communication Teams are crucial in providing support to our frontline crews.

The teams run the state-wide event management system and communication network to relay messages to our first aid crews and help them provide fast and efficient emergency responses. Our UHF repeater network, complemented by long range HF radios and SMR radios, are operated primarily from State Headquarters in Mount Waverley and supported by regional communications centres in Ballarat, Bendigo, Cobden, Mildura, Morwell and Wodonga when required.

No prior skills or experience are required since we provide full training in clinical, communications and management programs.

When you join a St John Communication team, you'll be based at State Headquarters in Mount Waverley.
